Most people figure Medicare out after making a costly mistake.
You've gotten mailers you ignored, questions you haven't answered, and a deadline you're not sure you're tracking. That's where this starts.

Medicare doesn't cover long-term care. WA Cares helps — for about 2-3 months. Here's the real picture for Washington residents.
Learn more →Why Washington residents work with me
As a licensed Medicare advisor serving Pierce County, Thurston County, and Western Washington, I help residents approaching 65 navigate Medicare without making expensive mistakes. I'm a licensed Medicare specialist with Bankers Life, based in University Place and serving people across Pierce County, Thurston County, and Western Washington. I'm independent in my approach — education first, and I work with the carriers that fit your situation.
If Medicare isn't the right move for you yet, I'll tell you so. That's the deal.
One more thing worth knowing: Washington has no state income tax, which means your Social Security, pension, and retirement account withdrawals are only subject to federal taxes. That's a meaningful retirement income advantage that most national Medicare advisors never mention, because they're not from here.
Washington Just Changed the Rules on Long-Term Care
On July 1, 2026, Washington became the first state in the country to pay long-term care benefits through the WA Cares Fund, a lifetime benefit of up to $36,500 for eligible residents.
Most people think that covers them. At $13,000 per month for a private nursing home room in Washington, it covers about two to three months.
Medicare doesn't cover long-term custodial care at all. Understanding where WA Cares fits — where it doesn't — is one of the most important things a Washington resident can know before they retire.
What People Are Saying
Michael explained everything in a way that finally made sense. After months of confusing mailers, one conversation gave me a clear picture of exactly what to do and when. Just help.
I had no idea I was overpaying on my Supplement plan until Michael ran the comparison. Same coverage, significantly lower premium. The process was simple and there was no sales pitch.
My husband and I both needed help understanding our options. Michael met with us locally, walked through everything specific to our situation, and we both enrolled with confidence.
